Replacing a Slow Tub Filler with a "Fire Hydrant"!
Просмотров 25921 день назад
After living for several years with a faucet that took an entire 20 minutes to fill the bathtub (#firstworldproblems) a stay at a high-end hotel with a ridiculously high-volume tub filler prompted me to replace mine. This one from Newport Brass is rated at 22gpm and fills the tub in 4 minutes!
Central Vacuum Glues Itself To The Wall!

As a teenager, during the first year or two of my vacuum store career, the Royal Power Tank was still available, and I sold a handful of them. One of the demonstrations to show the amount of suction this machine had was to remove the front end bell, turn the unit on, and stick it to a wall, where it would hang indefinitely. I discovered in my parents' basement that this would also work with a c...

My heart hurts see those hoses torn. Lol😢😅. At least you can use hose ends to make new hose. 😁
Beautiful collection. I didn’t know. It has 3 fans. I love my model c.
How rare are those Hoover inlets (and the electrolux ones too)?
They are sort of hard to come by, as even many Hoover and Electrolux systems were installed with non-branded inlets. Then of course, there's the issue of finding them 25 years later, unbroken and not painted over. Other than that, it will vary by region. Around here, it's far easier to find, say, Filtex inlets than Hoover or Lux ones, but in many parts of the country, Filtex systems are virtually nonexistent.
Omg! Growing up in da 80s!! ❤❤❤
I laughed way too hard as a rainbow lover. Wreck’s Air! Especially if you don’t clean them out 😂
sound like professional -wrestlers- *wrexlers* 😂 Laughing so hard I'll go ahead and follow you out the door 🤣🤣
There's nothing worse than a incontinent rexaire 😂
My grandfather installed his Kenmore Central Vacuum in the spring of 77, as he was building the house. Still works to this day!
Wreck the air!! ROFL What better to wreck the air with than a Wrecksair!!!
Awesome car man. If you ever decide to sell it hit me up. Sold my 59 Continental years ago and still miss it.
The way to get good solder joints is to be very thorough with a mirror and heat up the backside in the front side of the fitting. I’m a professional Plumber by trade as long as you ream the interior of the pipe will thin out the wall of the pipe and caused pin holes, it takes to a homeowner such as yourself has to the ability
Great video! Main point you failed to address - Whats the COST difference for the consumer? Pls give us a range - thank you - great otherwise!
i had the same fascination considering a top tier dishwashers in 2024 is approaching $3000 USD eg Miele, COVE, BOSCH. Thank you for the content.
Nice hair dryer you got there, can't say sanitaire means much these days
I will try this....
These houses I'm doing installs in in the mountains, I swear it looks like a 2in OD PEX waterman into each one... Sadly no flushometer toilets... I'm a complete fuckaroon, but I wouldn't dare build a house and not put in that hotel grade nonsense.
You probably can't tell the difference because you are drinking such a dark roast. French roast has a smoky finish and is almost as dark as Italian roast. The snobs tend to choose light roasts for flavor notes and caffeine content. Thanks for sharing your antique.
Umm, why is the toilet in a shower enclosure? That's some next level shit...
WOW!! I didn't know either one of those could do that! Too funny about the drywall hole, literally not just sucking dry paint off a wall but sucking the wall off the house! ahhah
Lol 'so called portable vacuum"? Well yeah, it's portable. I mean, you wouldn't be trying to carry your central vacuum upstairs, much less try to load a central vacuum into your car.
Wonderful info! Wish I could do this like you but will have to hire a plumber but now know what to ask for thanks to you!
Very nice! I have one of these as well however, mine is hobart brand and when you turn it on all it does is hum. It's very old and I'm sure needs repairs. It's just used as a conversation piece.
Sounds like a loose or broken connection. Could be an easy fix if you open it up you can spot the issue with your eye.
But do those Beam power nozzles have jam detection sensors? You know if you pick up something and you jam it, the nozzle's supposed to shut down to protect the belts?
Featured Vacuums: 1. Kirby Classic 2. Dirt Devil hand vac
lol nice video
I remember a friend of mine wanted a 100hz TV because of the 100Hz. I asked him what frequency his current TV used. He read the manual. It was 100Hz, it just didn't say so on the box it came in because nobody cared until one company started advertising with it. Selling is mostly "being creative with the truth" Yes this vacuum can stick itself to a wall, what you don't mention is that any vacuum can lift a car if it can make a good enough seal on a large enough area. This trick means exactly nothing for how good the vacuuming is, but people will be impressed and want to own this super vacuum that is in no way better than the one they already own.
Love this trick! I've also done it with the motor unit of a Cleanfix S10. Most vacuums are capable of this trick given enough surface area.
that central vac sounds like the misty fragrance vacuum at my local car wash its the same motor
Impressive.
GRAVITY-DEFYING SUCTION
AWESOME Owen!
Couldn't like any vacuum do this though?
Some not all
@@YoumuHoover I heard someone say that any vacuum could do Oreck's bowling ball trick, and that's where I got the impression from.
It depends on how powerful it is
@YoumuHoover I mean, I guess if you have a vacuum with plugged up filters and such, but if you had a good enough seal, you could probably do it with most vacuums. Then again, I've never tested it out myself, as I don't have that bowling ball attachment (though i kind of wish i did), nor a bowling ball to test it out with.
Most can with enough surface area.
What motor is in this unit?
"Heavy Duty" as it states
I loved Sears
What Happens With An Upright or Canister?
Smart dog
Did the dog 🐶 bark
Surprise indeed. The vacuum always made my dog see red. He would instantly attack it before I even plugged it in.
But it's not connected to anything!
That part comes next! Once the mounting plate with 90 degree elbow and the inlet valve are in place (sandwiching the drywall), vacuum tubing can be glued in from above or below.
How much effort is involved to retrofit an older system?
The tubing needs to be rerouted/extended so the hose can retract...difficulty really depends on how accessible the existing vacuum tubing is. Houses with attic and basement access above/below the living areas are the easiest.
Wondering what motor was in that unit and what it sounded like, wonder if the motor still works after all this time.
I had one years ago and lost it in fire. Looking for another! I loved it so!
What's your opinion on automatic toilets?
Practical for public bathrooms. I still push the manual flush button on them though, because I'm weird.
@owenperkins There are few things that I despise deeply my in life, but automatic toilet sensors are one of them. Those horrible things have made using public restrooms a living nightmare for me, and the only reason they exist is because people are too lazy to flush a toilet. I'd rather witness and smell the most vile unflushed toilet than deal with one of those horrendous things.
I ended up using your video to review the process - while I fixed it. It's a good job your presentation - and yes soldering is very tricky but I was able to do it with a very fine tinning - it's possible - I emphasise always making long enough strands to work with and the rings put on first before the slider clips. I broke one plastic ring - but it appears they have a seam - easy to glue it back. Now we are pro at this procedure ! LOL
Does your machine drain completely when turned off?? We have this machine at our church and there sits water when you take off filters.
Wow you are you smart!
"It's just a vintage vacuum cleaner. There's nothing particularly anumsing about it." Me: haha Electrolux bag ejector go boing.
That inlet outside is cool and the house is just amazing . Also what central vac unit do you personally recommend?
